The Prescott/Nevada County Library kicked off it's fun-filled week of events for the Summer Reading Program, Tails and Tales, today with the Balloon Man. He put on quite the show and the crowd of kids roared with laughter while charmed parents looked on with smiles. The children were dazzled with balloon-shaped animals, hats, and other air-filled designs while the Balloon Man performed and simultaneously entertained the audience with jokes and interesting anecdotes. After last summer's closure due to the pandemic, the library staff is elated to be open again and providing these wonderful events for the children. Librarian Theresa Tyree said, “We are glad to be back! Last summer we couldn’t have these events so we’re excited to have the Balloon Man here for the children and have the doors open for the community again.” This is just the first day, however, for this week of fun. Tomorrow the library will have a Build-A-Bear workshop and Wednesday will see Animology with live animals. Also, free lunches are provided daily from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Stay tuned to SWARK.Today for continuing coverage on these events.
