A table toward the back of the dining room was laden with toasted quarter sandwiches (ham, turkey and the trimmings), burger sliders, chicken quesadillas, coconut chocolate chip cookies and chocolate chip/cream cheese dip as dozens of attendees came to enjoy the offerings and wish new owner K.T. Maxwell, who will take over from Becky Koger, who has owned and run Ko-Fields since 2015.
Chamber Executive Director Jamie Hillery spoke briefly at the coffee to the dozens who came about the restaurant’s new phase. “This place is as much about friends and fellowship as it is about food, so thank you all for being here to support the Ko-Fields family.”
Both Koger and Maxwell were present. Koger said that she could not have left the restaurant in better hands than Maxwell’s. “She’s been here from the beginning,” Koger said, adding that she now looks forward to becoming involved in other things.
Maxwell said the hours for Ko-Fields will remain the same and that Thursday steak and seafood nights will return. She also said she may be adding new menu items. Maxwell will bring years of experience as an employee of the restaurant, which we hope will serve its patented homestyle meals for years to come.
