The tour will open with a reception on Friday, September 27 at 5:30 PM at the Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce, 659 Ouachita Avenue in Hot Springs, originally a McDaniel-designed bank. Guests will enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and beverages as featured guest Diana McDaniel Hampo, daughter of the architect, speaks about her father’s life and career.
On Saturday, September 28, attendees will gather at 10 AM at the Congregation House of Israel, 300 Quapaw Avenue, for the day’s first tour. Parking is available in the lot behind the Congregation House of Israel and along nearby streets. From there, a trolley bus will ferry attendees to the Dr. Will and Helen Jackson House, First United Methodist Church Chapel, Hot Springs City Hall, Weyerhaeuser Building, and back to the Congregation Hall. Saturday’s tour is approved for 3 LU|HSW Continuing Education Units through the American Institute of Architects.
