There, nine voting machines and one tabulator were available. Voters approached a table, were asked for photo IDs, had their registrations confirmed, chose their ballot by party preference and signed a screen. Then they were given a long piece of paper with their voting information printed on the top part of one side.
At the voting booth, they slid this paper into a machine with the writing side up and pointed toward the machine. Then a series of screens appeared which asked the voter to make choices among candidates and for a school millage. The millage vote result will not be binding, but the votes for candidates certainly are.
When the polls close, in Arkansas that will be 7:30 p.m., the votes will be counted at the Hempstead County Courthouse, and the results will be reported tonight as soon as they are available by your SWARK.Today team, first to our Facebook site and then on our site proper. Results from Nevada County will also be reported there.
