HOPE, AR. – A large group of individuals from Rainbow of Challenges and Prescott/Nevada County Special Services recently enjoyed a great weekend competing in the State Special Olympics hosted by Harding University in Searcy.

The select group earned their way into the three-day event through their efforts in the Area 11 Special Olympic games held in April at Hope High School.

Traditionally, Harding University has a beautiful Opening Ceremony held on the first evening prior to the competition in which Law Enforcement Torch runners deliver the official torch. Then the athletes took to the track for various races and field events, while others competed in other events including Bocce Ball.

The group had a great time and brought home many medals. Everyone came back with cherished memories of competition and reconnecting with friends from around the state.

Many thanks to all the support from the community and from the ROC/PNC staff who assisted in making the trip fun and safe for everyone.

Rainbow of Challenges, Inc. (ROC) and Prescott/Nevada County Special Services are private, non-profit, community-based providers of a vast array of supports and services for children and adults with developmental disabilities. ROC/PNC are equal opportunity providers and employers.
