FAYETTEVILLE – The 10th-ranked Arkansas men’s golf team will look to continue its recent run of success versus conference foes at this week’s SEC Championships, played in St. Simons Island, Ga., for the 21st straight year.

Stroke play – to determine the individual champion and the top eight teams that will advance – will be played Wednesday-Friday (April 20-22). Match play – to determine the team champion – will be played Saturday (quarterfinals and semifinals) and Sunday (championship).

SEC Network will cover the final on Sunday from the opening match starting at 6:30 am (CT).

The recent Razorback run started in 2019 when then-freshman Julian Perico led Arkansas to its first SEC team title since 1995. At last year’s SEC Championship, Arkansas reached the SEC match play final, falling to Vanderbilt (3-2) on the final putt of the final hole of the final match. However, the Razorbacks did not come up empty as Segundo Oliva Pinto won the individual title while going 3-0 in match play. (The 2020 SEC Championship was canceled due to COVID.)

This past fall, the 14 conference members came together to play the inaugural SEC Match Play event. Arkansas defeated Mississippi State, Ole Miss and LSU before getting its revenge over the Commodores with a 3-2 victory in the final to win the title. Oliva Pinto, Luke Long and Juan Camilo Vesga were each 3-1 over the four matches while Wil Gibson and Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira each had convincing 5&3 wins in the final.

Overall this season, Arkansas is 14-3 versus SEC teams
