Sessions will begin on Sept. 9 and run on Monday nights through Oct. 7, with a Saturday intensive on Oct. 12 capping off the course. Each class is recorded and readily available online, so people can continue to join after the courses start and catch up on classes they may have missed. There is also a virtual option for those who are unable to attend the classes in person. Childcare for kids up to age 12 is available for those who need it while attending the in-person sessions.
“With topics ranging from basic budgeting to estate planning and more, Money Matters aims to help provide people with a better understanding of personal finance,” said Marcus Guinn, loan manager for Arvest Bank – Central Arkansas and long-time volunteer instructor for Money Matters. “The program also provides resources and practical steps for attendees to take to improve their money management skills, while allowing them to receive feedback from volunteers who work in finance-related fields.”
