Staff members at Southern Pine Health and Rehab in Prescott.

The recently renamed Southern Pine Health and Rehab hosted a Prescott-Nevada Chamber of Commerce community coffee this morning, serving such items as ham and cheese sliders, a fruit platter and biscuits and gravy along with coffee to community and staff members at its 700 Manor Road, Prescott location.

Among the staffers present was Dana Knighton, Southern Pine’s Community Marketing Director, who told of being struck when she was hired in September by “the employees, the atmosphere” and touted the upcoming addition of a new wing of secured rooms that will be a dementia/behavioral unit.  She led a tour of this wing of the building, which will boast a patio where plants will be laid in this spring and a lounge in which two televisions will be provided.

Administrator Nikki Binns said a grand opening can be expected in a month. A native of Bryant, she assumed her position four months ago.

Ascend owns ten facilities in Arkansas and one in Mississippi. It took over management of what had been Prescott Manor in September.
