Chamber Executive Director Jamie Hillary opened the event by thanking everyone for attending and recognizing the excitement surrounding the salon's opening. “We’re super excited to have Kyle opening up here,” said Hillary. “From what I’ve seen on social media, he’s doing amazing work. This turnout is proof that Kyle is supported by this community, and we’re thrilled to have him here.”

Kyle Wilson, owner of Wilson’s Salon, shared a bit about his services and the inspiration behind opening the salon. “Right now, we’re mainly offering haircuts and lightening services,” Wilson explained. “Eventually, I want to expand to include perms, hair coloring, and other services. It’s a family-friendly salon—mom, dad, and the kids are all welcome.”

The salon’s hours are Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.

When asked what led him to open his business in this location, Wilson gave a heartfelt tribute to his roots. “My grandma, Dorothy Wilson, worked in this building for about 50 years. The business has been in Prescott since 1976 at this and other locations. I wanted to carry on her legacy.”

The salon interior has been fully renovated, blending modern updates with nostalgic touches that honor the building’s history. “I tried to keep everything as original as possible while still adding my own style,” said Wilson.

Despite the summer heat, the event concluded with a group photo and the ceremonial ribbon cutting, officially marking the grand opening of Wilson’s Salon.

Wilson’s Salon is now open and ready to serve the Prescott community with quality hair services and a welcoming atmosphere steeped in local legacy.
