Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting today at the newly remodeled Piggly Wiggly, formerly known as Save-a-lot to celebrate their grand opening. They made the change back to the Piggly Wiggly banner in order to save their customers more money and offer a larger variety of inventory.

Piggly Wiggly is a cost plus food outlet that carries all brands of foods, from generic to name brand. Prices are low and the store is stocked to the brim with great deals.

Today the store was filled with consumers looking to save on products. Meat seemed to be the most popular item of the day along with their notorious 'Pig Gear.' The district manager, Geoff Salisbury gave out sacks full of groceries to several grateful patrons. Along with the grocery sacks, hats, shirts, back packs and even a large tent was given away to attendees.
