FAYETTEVILLE -- Junior swingman Ricky Council IV has entered the 2023 NBA Draft after one season at Arkansas.Â
Council previously played two years at Wichita State. At Arkansas, Council played in 36 games averaging 34.1 minutes per game. He topped Arkansas in scoring averaging 16.1 points per game. He also averaged 3.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.3 block each game. He shot 43.3 from the field, 79.4 percent at the free throw line and 27.0 percent from deep.
Council, 6-6, 205, was a second-team All SEC performer according to the league’s coaches and the Associated Press at Arkansas.Â
According to the mock drafts, Council is projected to go in the 30-45 range. He joins Nick Smith Jr. in declaring for the draft. Davonte "Devo" Davis also declared for the draft, but isn't hiring an agent thus leaving him the option of returning for another season. Trevon Brazile has announced he will return for another season.
Arkansas is still awaiting a decision on freshman guard Anthony Black.
