ROC Hosts Return Visit by Top Officials from Hope Public Schools for Tour of Local Adult Services Facilities
Pictured are Hope Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Crossley and Josclyn Wiley, Assistant Superintendent for Special Services, plus an ROC Administration team headed by CEO Judy Watson and ROC Board member Shannon Hawthorne as the group enjoyed their second trip to ROC, this time for a tour of the Adult Services components.     The group gathered at ROC local eatery The Melon Patch before taking a walking tour of the buildings nearby containing the Contract Labor employees, the Recycling Center and to ROC’n Reruns thrift store. The visitors were captivated while observing and asking questions about the various jobs and opportunities that fill the day for many ROC individuals.    The group then took the opportunity to tour several of the ROC living facilities and apartments that provide individualized and specialized care. 
   The second tour provided an opportunity to show and share with Dr. Crossley and Mrs. Wiley the many services provided to the adult clients and the stories of personal growth and rewarding achievements.    The group talked about how ROC and Hope Public Schools can work better together, creating opportunities for success throughout the life span of people with special needs, including not only ROC individuals, but for those in the High School setting that were not previously unavailable.

“Both ROC and Hope Public Schools have the same goals, to help students and adults become as independent as possible and to be productive members of the community which they live,” said Watson. “I am excited about continuing to move forward with HPS to meet not only these goals, but also the goals of the students and adults that we serve and support during different phases of their lives.”
