LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders today submitted an additional Major Disaster Declaration to President Donald J. Trump, requesting Public Assistance for communities impacted by the severe storms and tornadoes on March 14, 2025. The disaster caused severe infrastructure damage, overwhelming amounts of debris, and hundreds of damaged dwellings. The Governor’s full letter is linked here.
“Our cities and counties are still working to recover from the tornado outbreak earlier this month and Public Assistance will be critical to helping local leadership pay for their cleanup and repair efforts,” said Governor Sanders. “We continue to be grateful for President Trump’s leadership and appreciative of the federal government’s assistance in this difficult period for our state.”
With the damage assessment process now complete, Governor Sanders is specifically requesting:
- Public Assistance, Categories A-G, for Clay, Greene, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Lawrence, Nevada, Randolph, Sharp, Stone, and Woodruff counties.
