Saydee Johnson of Pike County is crowned the winner of the Miss Southwest Arkansas District category at the Southwest Arkansas District Pageant last night. The winners of the Junior Miss and Little Miss categories were also crowned.
The Southwest Arkansas District Fair and Livestock Show Pageant was held last night at Fair Park Coliseum. Twenty contestants from the counties within the district competed.
Chad Morris, Southwest Arkansas Educational Cooperative Gifted and Talented Specialist hosted the event.
Judges were Jackie Lampkin, Misty Arivett and Marty Arivett.
The contestants from the Junior Miss and Miss divisions introduced themselves in the opening going as Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" played. Then the ladies from the two divisions competed in the activewear round.
After this, the Little Miss contestants were brought out. Morris interviewed each of them on stage.
Then came the evening wear round for the Junior Miss and Miss divisions. The contestants were also given words like responsibility, teamwork and courage to define in the interview round.
The reigning Little Miss Southwest District Jordyn Burton was on hand to provide the awards to the 2021 Little Miss Winners. In addition, 2021's Junior Miss Southwest District Raylee Van Voast and Miss Southwest District Abby Akin performed the service for all the new winners:
