Data on the performance of Arkansas public schools in the 2020-21 school year was released late last week by the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), an office of the state's Department of Education.
This means interested parties may go online to see how their schools did on a website set up by DESE for the purpose. Simply type in the name of the school district you are interested in and choose among the results matching your choice.
The reports provide measurements under 18 modules for various subgroups of students. They also show a comparison between the school's performance in that module and the state average.
These measures are used by the state Department of Education to assess the schools' respective grades for a given year. During the school year 2022-23 the state will identify schools with scores in the bottom two percent for state intervention to address deficits in the schools' performance.
