Washington, D.C. — Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) released the following statement after Finland formally joined the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO):

“I want to congratulate Finland on becoming our 31st NATO ally. Finland is a country of warriors with a proud history of resisting Russian invaders. It boasts a well-trained and well-equipped military, an advanced economy, and vital geography. America and our NATO allies are safer, and the threat of war in Europe is lower, with Finland in the alliance.”
