PRESS RELEASE
Little Rock, AR – Republican Senate candidate Jake Bequette today announced that he had signed Americans for Tax Reform’s Taxpayer Protection Pledge, a pledge that highlights Bequette’s commitment to ensuring taxpayers keep more money in their pockets.
“I’m proud to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge because we need leaders who believe in fiscal responsibility and will fight to lower the tax-burden for all Americans,” Bequette said. “Right now, the American people are being crushed by inflation, stagnant economic growth, and an out of touch political class that continues to spend trillions of dollars that we don’t have. Look no further than my opponent, John Boozman, who has claimed to be fiscally responsible while supporting numerous tax increases and voting to add around $15 trillion to our national debt. It’s time that we elect true conservative warriors who will fight to put money back in people’s pockets, not take it away.”
Despite signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, John Boozman has repeatedly taken steps to increase the tax burden on the American people.
Over the course of his decades-long career, John Boozman has sponsored legislation that would raise the gas tax at the same rate that inflation increases, multiplying the burden on taxpayers especially with the current record-breaking inflation.
Boozman has also been an outspoken advocate for Arkansas sales tax increases and voted to increase our debt ceiling over ten times, adding around $15 trillion to our national debt and heavily contributing to the skyrocketing inflation we’re seeing right now.
