At 521 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Rosston, or 14
miles south of Prescott, moving northeast at 55 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Young, Bluff City, Rosston, Willisville, Sutton, Cale, Bodcaw,
Waterloo, McNeil, Boughton, Mount Moriah, College Hill, Lamartine,
Waldo, Morris, Laneburg, Prescott, White Oak Lake State Park, Reader,
and Emmet.
Instructions
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southwestern
Arkansas.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
