ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Sherry Kuhn, senior cash manager and grant specialist in the Office of Business Services at Ouachita Baptist University, has been named the university’s 2022-23 Support Staff Member of the Year. Kuhn was recognized in April by the university’s staff development committee and Dr. Ben Sells, Ouachita president.

She was selected from a group of nominees who demonstrated outstanding performance in their work responsibilities, in supporting the mission of the university and in relating positively to students, coworkers and members of the public.

“Sherry Kuhn is a dedicated member of my finance team working in our Office of Business Services, where she is in charge of cash management,” said Jason Tolbert, vice president for finance. “She is one of the people on campus who works hard behind the scenes to help make everything run correctly.”

“I am very honored to receive the Support Staff Member of the Year award. This December, I will celebrate my 16th year with Ouachita,” Kuhn said. “This is the very first time a staff member from Business Services has been chosen, so I am definitely honored to receive this award for our office.”

“Sherry maintains a level of excellence in her job responsibilities. She is accurate, manages her time wisely and helps others when they are out of the office,” said Kristi Clay, director of business services, in her nomination letter for Kuhn. “She takes on additional job responsibilities as requested. Last year, Sherry was instrumental in the seamless change of banking service providers.”

Kuhn is Ouachita’s 21st Support Staff Member of the Year. The university began giving the award in 2001 to honor those behind the scenes. The winner receives recognition and a cash prize and is honored on Support Staff Day Out.
