Significant Weather Advisory for Hempstead and Nevada Counties
UPDATE: 11:00 p.m.: The Severe Weather Advisory has expired and no further watches, warnings or advisories have been issued for the area. We will be watching throughout the night as the system moves into the region and will post if any hazardous weather conditions develop.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is advising that doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Emmet moving northeast at 50 mph. They advise that nickel size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with the storm until around 11 p.m.

Areas potentially impacted in East Central Hempstead County and Central Nevada County include Hope, Prescott, Emmet, Perrytown, Rosston, Bodcaw, Bluff City, Sutton, Boughton, Mount Moriah, Morris, Laneburg and Reader.

The NWS advises the storm may intensify and to monitor local weather information sources for additional information and possible storm warnings.
