Members of the Hope Civitan Club recently presented area Special Education personnel with tokens of appreciation for their dedication to their students. Civitan clubs worldwide have a special focus on serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Hope Civitans have for several years honored those who work in our schools with students who require specialized services.
Civitan clubs, including Hope Civitan, also support the Civitan International Research Center in Birmingham, Alabama, where researchers work on diseases that impact the lives of people with developmental disabilities like autism, Rett syndrome, and disorders of the brain.
Pictured are Civitans Linda Blackmon, left, and Eva Morehead, right, presenting cards and candies to Spring Hill special educators (from left) Cindy Kennedy, Whitney Britt, Taylor Stuhr, and Brandi Myers. Gifts were also presented to special educators in Hope and Blevins Public Schools and Rainbow of Challenges.
