Alert: SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHEASTERN HEMPSTEAD...EAST CENTRAL MILLER...NORTHEASTERN LAFAYETTE AND NEVADA COUNTIES UNTIL 715 PM CST...
At 640 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Gurdon to near Garland. Movement was east at 30 mph.
Pea size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.
Locations impacted include... Stamps, Lewisville, Buckner, Rosston, Garland, Willisville, Bodcaw, Bluff City, White Oak Lake State Park, Cale, Patmos, Sutton, Waterloo, Falcon, Mount Moriah, Spirit Lake, Morris, Piney Grove, Laneburg and Reader.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CST for southwestern Arkansas.
Instructions:Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
