Description

...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Little River, southwestern Hempstead, Miller, southern Sevier, southwestern Lafayette, southeastern Howard, southeastern McCurtain, northeastern Cass and Bowie Counties through 1145 AM CDT... At 1047 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 10 miles southeast of Broken Bow to near New Boston to near Linden. Movement was east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Texarkana, De Queen, Atlanta, Wake Village, Ashdown, Nashville, New Boston, Mineral Springs, Horatio, Foreman, Nash, Hooks, Linden, Queen City, Redwater, Maud, Red Lick, Fouke, Lockesburg and Bradley.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. If on or near a lake, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
