The Easter Bunny was available Saturday at the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce offices to meet youngsters from mid-morning to lunchtime.

Last week, the word went forth of a Spring Fling to be held April 1. Many businesses opened their doors this past Saturday to welcome customers, especially those interested in, as the flyer distributed by the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce put it, "updating your wardrobe, grabbing some new home decor and supporting local business."

The special guest at the chamber's headquarters on 201 South Main was none other than the Easter Bunny, taking a break from hiding eggs and filling baskets to meet area youngsters in the front lobby.

In addition to the Spring Fling, a large garage sale took place at Pavilion Park/The Hub which stocked everything from pots and pans to decorative ceramics.
