Spring Hill Baseball in Action This Past Weekend
Murfreesboro - The Bears traveled to Murfreesboro  to play in a tournament this past weekend, where the Bears faced some tough competition. Thursday would prove to be a difficult day for the Bears. as they would drop two games to Ouachita and Genoa. Spring Hill would bounce back on Saturday and handle Mena, with an 11-1 win. Finishing the weekend with a 1-2 record, the Bears focus will shift to Junction City, as they host the Dragons on Tuesday, and inch closer to conference play.

Carson Moore got the nod from Coach Loe in the opening game against the Warriors, and Moore was in a difficult spot on Thursday, as he would have to maneuver around a handful of errors. Ouachita had an early 7-2 lead after the third inning and never looked back as they took advantage of some miscues. Moore would work hard and eat up some innings for the pitching staff, as he finished with allowing just 3 ER and striking out 2.  Karson Moore led the Bears offense, as he blasted a HR and smacked a single. Mason Moore reached base safely in all 3 plate appearances, as Mason had a 2-hit game and drew a walk for the Bears. Caleb Clayton would hit a double, while Carson Moore, Reese Tarver, and Brady Rhodes would each have singles for Spring Hill. 

Spring Hill 9             Genoa Central 16

Reese Tarver started the game on the mound for the Bears in their second game of the day, as they faced a tough Dragons bunch. Spring Hill would give up 2 runs in the first inning, but would answer in a big way with five runs in the bottom of the inning, as Brady Rhodes, Mason Moore, and Karson Hamilton would start the inning with back-to-back-to-back singles. Reese Tarver would double and Zane Minton would single to drive in runs for the Bears in the opening inning. Genoa would fight back and push across 2 runs in the second inning, and another in the third inning to tie the game. The game was back and forth, entering the sixth inning in a 9-9 tie. Genoa would take advantage of a couple of miscues and push across a 7-spot to take control of the game and beat Spring Hill 16-7. Brady Rhodes, Mason Moore, and Jaxon Smith each had 2 hits for the Bears. Caleb Clayton, Zane Minton, Reese Tarver, and Karson Hamilton would each have htis for the Bears.

Karson Hamilton toed the slab for the Bears on Saturday and threw 4.1 innings of 1-hit ball and struck out 7 Bearcats, as the Bears would win the game 11-1. Jaxon Smith would get the final 5 outs for the Bears on the mound. Mason Moore would have himself a heck of a day at the plate for Spring Hill as he drove in 4 runs on 3 hits, as he would pace the Bears offense, who pounded out 12 hits. Jaxon Smith also had a great day at the plate, with a double, and 2 singles and scored twice. Brady Rhodes continues to get on base out of the leadoff spot, as he reached base safely in all five plate appearances with 2 hits and 3 walks. Maddox Dickson, Carson Moore, Reese Tarver, and Reed Fisher each had hits for Spring Hill. Rhodes, Dickson, and Fisher would each have an RBI as well for the Bears. 

Spring Hill is back in action on Tuesday as they host Junction City.
