This weekend, the Spring Hill Bass Fishing Team competed in their first tournament of the 2021 2022 season, and boy did they kick it off with a bang! Our anglers competed in the Arkansas Youth Federation Team Trail's Four State Classic tournament on Millwood Sunday. Despite the threat of thunderstorms and low water levels on the lake, every duo on our team weighed in a good bag of fish.
Spring Hill had 4 teams place in the top 10 in the high school division. After the smoke had cleared, the Hamilton Brothers took 9th place, Ryan Whatley and Will Applegate secured 7th place, Jett Durham and Reese Tarver ended up in 5th place, and Blake Townsend and Collin Morris brought the title home with a first place win. With this 1st place win, Townsend and Morris have won an automatic spot in the national championship that will be held on Pickwick Lake in June.
We are so proud of all of our anglers for their hard work and their dedication to this sport. We would also like to thank our boat captains for keeping our anglers safe, our sponsors for their generosity, and our school for supporting us.
