Spring Hill Bass Fishing Team Sinks the Competition at State Championship

Chad Morris

This weekend, the Spring Hill Bass Fishing Team racked up the trophies in the TBF/AYTT Junior and Senior High School State Championship. The duo of Jett Durham and Reese Tarver won 1st place in the Junior State Championship. This win qualifies them for the Junior World/National Championship this summer.

That wasn’t the only gold being hoisted this weekend by the Spring Hill Bears though. The team of Carson Townsend and Bryson Madar took 1st place in the AYTT junior tournament as well. Not bad for their first ever bass fishing tournament. Our senior high anglers had a great showing also, with 2 teams landing in the top 10 of the Senior Division of the TBF State Championship. The team of Blake Townsend and Collin Morris took 4th place while the team of Ryan Whatley and Alex Gilingham battled it out to take 10th place.

Congratulations to all of the Spring Hill Anglers for representing your school so well this weekend on Lake DeGray. We also want to give a big thank you to our boat captains, sponsors, parents, and school for all of the support that you give us. We couldn’t do it without you.
