The Bears drew Centerpoint to start the weekend off, and the opening half was not ideal for the Bears as they fell behind early 23-11 after the first quarter. They would fight back and win the second quarter, only trailing 31-28 at the half.
A very tight third quarter had Spring Hill trailing 46-41 heading into the final quarter. But Spring Hill would only manage 7 points in the fourth quarter, as buckets were tough to come by and the Bears would drop the opening game 59-48.
Jakob Perry would lead the Bears in scoring with 12 points, Andrew Wylie had 8 points, Grant Hudman 7 points, and Austin Stone, Blaine Tuttle, and Maverick Mills would each score 6 points. Jackson Putz rounded out the Bears offense with 3 points.
Spring Hill would match up with Ouachita's JV team the next day and would take care of business as they jumped out to an early 27-14 lead and cruised to a 59-37 win. Austin Stone would lead the way with 16 points for the Bears. Maverick Mills (11) and Andrew Wylie (10) would both score in double-figures.
On Saturday, the Bears would face off against the SCC, and Spring Hill would start the game out on fire. The Bears took an early 25-9 lead after the first quarter, as Andrew Wylie scored 10 of his game-high 21 points in the first quarter. The Bears offense was still rolling in the second quarter, as they scored 22 points to take a 47-24 lead into halftime. Some more hot shooting for the Bears and great team defense would lead the Bears to a 82-62 victory.
Andrew Wylie knocked down five 3-pointers and score 21 points to lead the offense. Maverick Mills had a great game as he scored 20 points. Blaine Tuttle would score 9 points for the Bears and Austin Stone would add 8 points. Jakob Perry scored 7, Levin McGuire scored 6 and Jett Durham added 5 points for the Bears.
Spring Hill is back in action on Thursday as they host the Redbugs from Fordyce in what could very well be a Regional tourney preview.
