Horatio- The Bears traveled to Horatio to compete in a tournament this past weekend. They dropped the opening game to Horatio, then beat Waldron and Mount Ida to finish the tourney 2-1.
Spring Hill 0 Horatio 10
The Bears fell behind early, trailing 7-0 after the 3rd inning and could not make up the ground to mount a comeback. The Bears managed 2 hits against a tough pitching performance from two Horatio pitchers. Mason Moore and Cade Watson each had singles for the Bears.
Spring Hill 10 Waldron 2
The Bears offense picked it up in the third inning as they put up a 4 spot and added 5 more runs in the 4thinning to put the game out of reach as they cruised to a 10-2 victory over Waldron. Reese Tarver picked up the win on the mound for Spring Hill as he allowed only 5 hits and 2 runs while striking out 5 batters. Jayce Moore led the way for the Bears at the plate as he knocked in 5 runs on a double and a triple. Zane Minton added 2 singles and swiped a bag, Levin McGuire, Reese Tarver, Mason Moore, and Andrew Carillo each added singles as well.
Spring Hill 7 Mount Ida 4
Spring Hill jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Corbin Overton and Andrew Carillo both looked great on the mound in the win combining for 10 strikeouts and only allowing 3 hits. Carillo also added a double and a single at the plate to lead the bears. Karson Hamilton added an RBI double, and Reese Tarver, Levin McGuire, and Moore added singles. The Bears are back in action Monday at home against Junction City at 5:00.
