Hope- The Spring Hill Lady Bears played very well this past weekend in the DMAC Tournament held in Hope. The Lady Bears brought home 2nd place as they defeated Carlisle and Fordyce, to set up a matchup against Fouke in the championship game. This weekend the girls displayed great pitching, defense, offense, and Erin McMaster decided 1 HR was not enough, so she smashed a 2nd one for good measure Saturday night. Offensively the Lady Bears scored 25 runs in 3 games this weekend, with conference play just around the corner the offense seems to be heating up at the right time.
Saturday: Spring Hill 11 Fordyce 3
The Lady Bears jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and would not let off the brakes offensively as they added 7 more runs in the 3rd inning to put this one out of reach. Erin McMaster allowed only 3 hits and 3 runs (1ER) while striking out 2 batters to claim the win. Ava McBrayer smashed a 3-run triple to extend the lead to 8-2 in the 3rd inning. Livi Tyree had 2 singles, an RBI, and swiped a bag for the Lady Bears on offense. McMaster roped a double, added a single and drove in 3 runs offensively. Cami Porter smashed an RBI double. Defensively Kelsie Thompson made 2 great plays in CF to save runs to help secure the win.
Championship: Spring Hill 7 Fouke 8
In a championship game that had a little bit of everything, the Lady Bears dropped a hard-fought game 8-7 to Fouke. The Lady Bears scored multiple runs in 3 separate innings, but Fouke had one extended inning that proved to be the difference.
