A big and-1 finish from Jakob Perry and a jump-shot by Maverick Mills late forced OT. Spring Hill would outplay the Outlaws in overtime, as the defense set the tone late in the game and the Bears would capture the 6-point victory. "They worked their tails off," Coach Austin Kidd said of his team's performance Tuesday night.
Maverick Mills started the game off on fire as he scored 10 of his team-high 18 points in the opening quarter. Jakob Perry scored 7 of his 13 points in the 4th quarter and OT, as he showed up big when the Bears needed it. Levin McGuire knocked down a couple of buckets late, as he scored 10 points for Spring Hill.
Austin Stone scored 9 points, including going baseline in the third quarter for a slam-dunk. Andrew Wylie scored 9 points and turned up the defense late in the game, as he was at max-effort on the defensive end of the floor the last 12 minutes of the game.
Grant Hudman had 6 points, Blaine Tuttle 4 points, Jackson Putz 2 points, and Karson Hamilton hit a free throw to round out the Bears scoring.
It was a huge win for the Bears, as they still control their own destiny as far as winning the conference and earning the 1-seed in the Conference Tourney is concerned. Spring Hill heads to Horatio on Friday night for a conference game.
