On Wednesday, May 15, the State Chamber/AIA will host the 2024
National Civics Bee®
Arkansas State Finals, which is aimed at encouraging more young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.
Organized in partnership with
The Civic Trust®
of the
U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation
, ten middle-school students from across Arkansas will participate in the competition to demonstrate their civics knowledge and discuss how they would solve a problem facing their community. |
The finalists and top winners will receive various prizes, including $1,000 cash for the first-place student.
The top winner will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to compete for $10,000 in the national round of the competition in Washington, D.C.
Arkansas State Finals will be emceed by Samantha Boyd from KARK 4 News and will feature a panel of guest judges including Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin, Executive Director of 64.6 Downtown Talicia Lee-Richardson, and Arkansas State Senator Steve Crowell.
