The Department of Transformation and Shared Services (TSS) Office of Personnel Management (OPM) announced that the State of Arkansas launched a new employment website, ARCareers. This site is a cloud-based human resource management system that will provide components for recruiting, on-boarding, and training.
This transformation initiative began in February 2020 and will be completed in four phases over a two-year period. The first phase includes the external ARCareers jobs site; an internal site, MyARCareers, for current state employees; and MyARLearning, a learning management system. This advanced, digital tool will improve communications with prospective job candidates, eliminate outdated processes, and improve efficiencies for state hiring.
“The Department of Transformation and Shared Services’ adoption of a unified, modern human-resource system is a key part of our work to transform State government,” said Governor Asa Hutchinson. “This system will result in a fully integrated, paperless hiring process.”
ARCareers provides a dedicated career page for each state department. Job seekers can easily search for employment by keyword, department, or location to find relevant jobs. Additionally, current state employees can track their career progression and enroll in state-led, learning-management courses.
“One of the goals of transformation is to modernize processes to increase efficiency,” said TSS Secretary Amy Fecher. “ARCareers does this while also improving our ability to recruit and promote talent in Arkansas.”
ARCareers replaces the antiquated and aging job site, ARStateJobs, with a state-of-the-art digital platform that is user-friendly and compatible with phones and tables, as well as computers. The remaining phases of the project include payroll, performance management, and succession planning. For more information about the new site, visit transform.ar.gov/personnel/ARCareers.Â
