State Senator Steve Crowell Announces Re-Election Campaign
Magnolia, AR – Republican State Senator Steve Crowell has announced he will seek re-election. He represents District 3, which includes all of Clark, Columbia, Lafayette, and Nevada counties, and parts of Hempstead, Hot Spring, and Pike counties. 

First elected in 2022, Crowell is in his first term in the Legislature. He serves on the Revenue & Tax, State Agencies, Arkansas Legislative Council, and the Joint Budget Committeees. He is Vice-Chair of Special Language, Legislative Joint Auditing – Counties and Municipalities subcommittee. 

“In my first year in the State Senate, we’ve went straight to work,” said Crowell. “I’m proud to be a part of phasing out state income taxes, increasing teacher pay, and reforming our justice system to make sure criminals stay in prison and off our streets.” 

When first elected, Crowell made it his mission to be accessible and responsive to constituents throughout the district. “I want to be open and honest with folks in the district,” continued Crowell. “I want people to contact me so that I make sure the legislature focuses on what matters.” 

Crowell manages SL Crowell Properties, which he owns with his wife Laura. Since 2014, he has been an AAA Arkansas High School Football referee. In December of 2020, he was honored with the offer to referee his first Arkansas High School Football Championship game. 

Crowell is a former member of the Magnolia city council, the Magnolia Economic Development Board, Magnolia A&P Commission, severed multiple terms on the Magnolia Blossom Festival committee, and founded both the Magnolia Police Foundation and Magnolia Schools Trap Shooting Foundation. Additionally, he serves on the Magnolia Arts Board and is a former Vice-Chair of the Columbia County Republican Committee. He and his wife have Emceed several community events through the years. 

Raised on a dairy, hog, and crop farm in southwestern Minnesota, Crowell moved to Arkansas as a young adult. As a board member of the Arkansas Gun Club, he helped bring Trap Shooting to both Southern Arkansas University and Magnolia High School. 

Steve and Laura have 4 children and one grandchild. They are members of First Baptist Church in Magnolia. Since 2011, the family has built a yearly Christmas Light show at their home to bring Christmas cheer to the local community. During the light show every year, they host over 7,000 visitors who walk through their more than 500,000 lights. Every year, the family chooses a local or state non-profit to raise funds for, and to date, have raised more than $25,000 for programs focused on children and domestic abuse.
