Longtime Hope Public Schools Board of Education member and ardent Future Farmers of America supporter the late Denver L. “Denny” Dickinson, of Guernsey, is the namesake of the Denny Dickinson Memorial Scholarship awarded to a Hope High School senior and FFA member each year. Dickinson was a charter member and the first president of what became the largest FFA chapter in Arkansas. The $500 scholarship given in his name was presented this year to Asia Stockdale by HPS board member Mrs. Kathryn Dickinson, right, and Jan McKinnon, left.
