Stromberg Returning

FAYETTEVILLE - Ricky Stromberg, 6-4, 310 Arkansas’ AP second-team All-SEC junior center from Tulsa and considered da NFL draft prospect, will return for his 2022 senior year with

Coach Sam Pittman’s Razorbacks.

On his Twitter account Stromberg posted Friday, “I love the great state of Arkansas and our great fan base so much. I love my teammates and coaches that always have my back and I will always have theirs. For those reasons, I have decided to return for my senior year and forego the 2022 NFL Draft.”

Stromberg and the 8-4, 4-4 in the SEC Razorbacks Friday began on campus practice in Fayetteville for their Jan. 1 Outback Bowl game in Tampa, Fla. against 7-5 Penn State Nittany Lions of the Big Ten.

Earlier this week, Razorbacks junior SEC Coaches and AP first-team receiver Treylon Burks announced he was foregoing playing in the Outback Bowl to declare for the 2022 spring NFL draft. And kickoff man Vito Calvaruso put his name in the transfer portal.

Calvaruso is transferring seeking an opportunity also to kick field goals which for the foreseeable future seems destined for the foot of Cam Little named to the SEC All-Freshman team.

Nose guard John Ridgeway and deep snapper Jordan Silver will don Razorbacks helmets one time after the Outback Bowl.

The two seniors have been invited to play in the NFL auditioning Senior Bowl all-star game Feb. 5 in Mobile, Ala.
