SWARK.Today celebrates five years by hosting Community Coffee
The leading news crew of Southwest Arkansas pulled out all the stops today when they celebrated their five-year anniversary by hosting this week’s Chamber of Commerce Community Coffee. A plethora of sweet treats and savory snacks were made available to guests, as well as the chance to get a sneak peek behind the scenes of SWARK.Today with a tour of the office and studio. On display were proud achievements of the last five years, such as the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award, photos of the SWARK staff during prestigious interviews and important events, and major publications that highlight the last few years' work.

As always, these SWARKansans took things a step further for their visitors and offered an impromptu photo shoot in the studio. Guests were allowed to choose from a variety of themes for their photo, some included props, and will soon be given the pics as a present from the SWARK.Today team. (See below for some of the photos.)

SWARK.Today General Manager, Bren Yocom, said the Coffee and photo shoot were just a way for the staff to show their appreciation to the community. “We are so proud of this milestone and very blessed to say we have been providing news and sports to this community for five years now,” Yocom said. “We’ve worked hard to get here, but it has been a group effort. Our viewers, advertisers, and this entire community have provided tremendous support and inspiration over the last five years, and we are extremely excited to begin this next chapter in our company.”

SWARK.Today President Jim Hawley seconded the statement. “When we started this business five years ago, it was with the goal of live streaming sports and bringing something fun to viewers,” Hawley said. “The company quickly grew and evolved into a news provider to suit the needs of the community, and it is with the support of that community that we are able to stand here today and say how proud we are of this achievement. This staff has amazed me with their dedication to creating high-quality publications and productions, and their ingenuity holds no bounds. I can’t wait to see what they do next.”

With Yocom and Hawley dropping those clues, one might be asking, “What is next?” With the recent release of SWARK.Today’s Player of the Week that showcases local athletes and the announcement of tailor-made products for readers like SWARK Souvenirs, this news crew is continuing their tradition of coming up with new and interesting items to add to their lineup. This neighborhood network which provides breaking news and sports coverage will soon be offering more shows; one might even call it entertainment. These new series will still have at their center the true star of everything SWARK.Today produces: you, the viewer. Who needs Hollywood when winners, rock stars, and heroes are right here in Southwest Arkansas, and these new series will highlight all the amazing people who live and work right here in the community.

As the SWARK family reflects over the last few years and plans for what is to come, there is one promise each SWARKansan maintains when asked what’s next. Each and every one of them would say, “You ain't seen nothing yet!”
