SWARK.Today joins the Hope Farmers' Market; Emma Cooley goes shopping

Everyone's favorite neighborhood news network joined Hope Farmers' Market this morning and brought plenty of tasty treats for market patrons. SWARK.Today hosted this week's Hospitality Table and provided juice, coffee, water, and individual snack bags which included a variety of breakfast pastries, donuts, muffins, and granola bars. SWARK.Today General Manager Bren Yocom said the news crew was thrilled to participate in the event. "We are excited to be at Hope Farmers' Market today!" Yocom said. "We have enjoyed spending time with the farmers and vendors who bring these essential resources to our community, in addition to the local residents who shop here for fresh produce and homemade items. We look forward to any and every event that brings our community together in fellowship and camaraderie."

Three new vendors have joined the market: Granny Davis with farm fresh eggs, Margie Osborne with handmade crafts, and Kylerene Gamble with her plums. Others in attendance today were Arnold Farms, Young Sprouts, Salinas Farms, Carolyn's Kitchen, Farm on the Hill, the Mint Man, Hannah's Berries, Dareline's Kitchen, Two Chicks and a Fox, Silvey Farms, and Solomon Farms. Altogether, these hard-working farmers and vendors provide a plethora of fresh, locally-grown produce, homemade wares, baked goodies, jar items, fresh beef and eggs, plus much more.

All market participants appeared to enjoy visiting with the local media team and the vendors, but it was little Emma Cooley who stole the show with her hand-drawn shopping list. Emma said this was her first time to attend the Hope Farmers' Market and she wanted to have her list ready to go. She had her fruits, veggies, salsa, and eggs all drawn and colored in a column with a checkbox next to each item. She even had a few blank spaces with checkboxes for those surprise items one finds when shopping, and she described it by saying, "The rest is a mystery!"

The Hope Farmer's Market is located at the Hub in downtown Hope every Tuesday morning from 7am to 11am.
