Tale of Two Halves, Nevada Completes Comeback in Emerson
Emerson- The first half for the Blue Jays (24-7) was a forgettable one, as they came out flat and trailed the Pirates 33-24 at halftime. But some Eric Musselman-like adjustments were made at halftime, and the defense showed up, dominating the back half of the game, as Nevada only allowed Emerson to score 14 points the entire second half.

"We knew we had to attack the basket in the second-half. We got their best player in foul trouble and it worked out," Senior guard Brycten Harris said.

Nevada would outscore Emerson by 28 points in the second half as they flipped the script Tuesday night, trailing by nine points at the half and coming back to win the game by 17 points.

"We figured it out, it's a good win, close until the end, but [I'm] very proud of our guys, the way they stepped up in the second-half," Coach Jamario Bell said. Defense in the second half gave the Jays the opportunity to get their offense rolling and, once it did, there was no looking back. Nevada scored 19 points in the third quarter and outscored Emerson 21-4 in the 4th quarter.

Four Blue Jays finished in double-figures, as Kavion Coleman led the way with 20 points, including three 3-pointers. Kavion also grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. SWARK.Today Player of the Week Keyonte Wingfield had another great game as he finished the night with 17 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Brycten Harris showed up big time in the second half and ended the night with 12 points (8 of which came in the 4th quarter), 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Cardi Adaire scored 10 points for the Jays, including some big buckets in the second half and grabbed 3 boards. Brogan Rhodes scored 3 points, dished out 5 assists, had 3 steals, 2 blocks, and led the team in deflected passes. Nevada is now 11-1 in conference play and the magic number is at 1 to clinch the #1 seed in the Conference play and secure a spot in the Regional tourney.

The Blue Jays are back in action on Thursday night as they host Hermitage and then Friday night is Senior Night in "The Nest" against Hampton.
