Talk on 19th century Methodist Church's mission to help slaves to take place in Old Washington Tuesday night

PRESS RELEASE

During the early 19th century, the Methodist Church in the south conducted various missions to reach the enslaved populations in their communities. The impact of these missions laid the groundwork for the formation of the CME denomination and other churches we know today. Come learn about these missions with Josh Williams, Curator at Historic Washington State Park.

We will meet on Tuesday evening July 26, 2022 at the Presbyterian Church in Washington, Arkansas at 7pm. Everyone is welcome.

The Historical Society seeks to bring awareness to the rich heritage and history of Hempstead County. Come and share your history with us.
