Teachers, staff, community members receive Superintendent Awards during HPS Board meeting

Hope Public Schools Communications:

The Hope Public Schools School Board met on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 5:30pm in the High School auditorium.

The board approved minutes and expenditures from the previous month. The board approved a $1.3 Million transfer of funds into the building fund.

Dr. Crossley then read recognitions and handed out awards to teachers, staff, and community members who were nominated by Hope Public Schools employees. (The pictures appear at the end of this article.)

Dr. Crossley presented updates to the ASBA and DESE rules and regulations. No actions required by the board as this was informational.

The Board approved a facilities rental request from Wildcat Football.

The Board approved a job title change from Curriculum & Instructional Specialist to Learning Services Specialist in relation to Title II-A funding used to fund the position.

The Board approved an increase for the football referee fee schedule. Junior High referees would get an additional $25 per referee to help combat shortfalls in finding persons willing to officiate games.

The Board then adjourned to Executive Session to discuss the September Personnel Packet.

The Board then resumed the regular board meeting, where the board approved the recommendations submitted by Dr. Crossley.

The parents involved in the student hearings chose not to attend the meeting. The Board approved both recommendations regarding the student hearings as separate issues.

The meeting was adjourned.
