Rob Holladay, aka "The Balloon Man' visited the Hempstead County Library this afternoon and was met with a fully packed house. Children of all ages, parents and staff crowded round to watch the fun-filled show. As balloons were twisted into animals of all sorts; an octopus, a chicken, the three little pigs and of course the big bad wolf, to name a few, the onlookers giggled and clapped in delight. Music played to suit each themed balloon animal and stories were told that captivated the audience. Everyone watched in awe as 'The Balloon Man's' performance was an absolute riot.
"I have been performing for children since 2002. I travel the United States during the school year speaking to kids at schools about bullying, cyberbullying and other issues that are affecting our youth. During the summer I love talking to these kids at events like this, love seeing them smile, laugh and talking to them about the importance of reading books," Rob Holladay said.
Courtney McNeil, Director of The Hempstead County Library said, "We are just so excited to have The Balloon Man here but more than that to see the many many smiling faces that we have here at the library today."
Many children got to take home balloon animals but most importantly, they got to have fun. It was definitely a show that will not be soon forgotten. Be sure to join in on the excitement at The Hempstead County Library on July 9, 2021 as Magic Mr. Nick performs at 2 pm.
