The Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce their upcoming Annual Meeting and Banquet and Facebook Auction.

The Facebook Auction will open Thursday, March 30th through Tuesday, April 4th.  The Chamber is seeking donations for this year’s auction at this time.  Please contact the Chamber if you would like to donate.  Follow HopeHempstead County Chamber Auction on Facebook for all the details. 

The Annual Meeting and Banquet will be held on Monday, April 10th at Hempstead Hall beginning with a meal and meeting to follow.  This year’s theme is “New Reflections.” Chamber Executive Director Christy Burns stated, “The Chamber along with the Board of Directors is very excited at this time to share the information of our upcoming Annual Meeting and Banquet.  The theme this year is very encouraging to me but a certain quote that stands out is: Looking back so that the view looking forward is even clearer. “

The Chamber is thrilled to announce that the keynote speaker this year will be David Bazzel.  Mr. Bazzel is a former Razorback linebacker and team captain under Lou Holtz and Ken Hatfield where is was a three year starter and four year letterman participating in four bowl games including a TV MVP performance against Auburn and Bo Jackson.  Mr. Bazzel currently hosts Morning Mayhem on 103.7 The Buzz with Roger Scott and Justin Moore and covers Razorback football for KATV Channel 7.  He created the nationally recognized Broyles Award and Little Rock Touchdown Club.  He was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.   

The Chamber will be accepting nominations for this year’s Chamber awards, these forms will be available soon and we encourage you to submit nominations for these prestigious awards which will recognize deserving members of our community. These awards will include Business, Citizen, Educator, Non-profit of the Year and Young Leadership.

There will also be an exciting announcement from the UAHT Foundation regarding the concert headliner for this year’s 47th Annual Watermelon Festival that you won’t want to miss!
