The Junior Auxiliary of Hope will be celebrating National JA Week, April 7-13, 2024. This annual celebration is a time to pause and thank the community, sponsors and volunteer members who work so hard year-round to make a positive difference.
The week beings with an Official Proclamation from our Mayor Don Still and continues with a canned food drive benefiting Hope in Action. Donations can be dropped off at the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce. JA will be hosting the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce Community Coffee on Wednesday, April 10th from 9:30am-11:00am at the Chamber office. This will also be Wear Blue Wednesday in support of Junior Auxiliary. Thursday, April 11th JA will host “Dress for Success” at Hempstead Hall from 5:30pm-7:00pm. This is a college/workforce readiness event for high school seniors. Â
JA of Hope has been a part of the Hope and Hempstead County community since 1961 and has donated more than 650 hours in 2023-2024 to the chapter’s various projects. The chapter raises funds each year through their Spaghetti Supper, Egg Your Yard, and Senoritas & Margaritas.
“Our job is to sow seeds of kindness and generosity, and we stand together as a testament to the power of collective action, and the difference that can be made when hearts and hands come together for the greater good. We each strive to leave a legacy of service as a reminder that, even in the face of adversity, hope prevails, and that working together, we can create a brighter future for all,” state Junior Auxiliary of Hope President Linsey Kirkpatrick.Â
The NAJA slogan is “Caring hearts. Helping hands. Changing lives.” Junior Auxiliary chapters are working more than ever to provide care to those less fortunate in order to make their tomorrows better.
