Actors from Brightstar Touring Theatre in a scene from The Little Mermaid, presented to children at the Nevada County Library in Prescott this morning.
About a dozen and a half small children and several adults were treated this morning to a production of The Little Mermaid, performed by two actors, Zach Gibson and Skylar Frishman from Brightstar Touring Theatre, a company based in Arden, North Carolina. Their performance took place as part of the Nevada County Library’s “Oceans of Possibility” Summer Reading program.
The show involved songs, pratfalls, several costume changes and at many instances audience participation, as Arial would consult the group of children before making her decision to take the Sea Witch’s potion.
After the performance, which was roundly applauded, snacks were made available to the children.
At 2 p.m. the same duo performed at the Hempstead County Library in Hope to another large turnout. The theme of "Oceans of Possibilities" is also the motif of Hope's summer reading program.
