Tornado touches down Saturday south of Bodcaw
Saturday, March 7, 2026

Around 5:30 a.m. a storm passed through the lower end of Nevada County. It had an undetermined size tornado touching down just west of Highway 32 and south of Bodcaw, AR. This tornado traveled southwest for approximately 10,000 feet before dissipating. Along its short path it leveled one mobile home and damaged four other homes.

One person was sent to the hospital with unknown injuries. Other residents described the tornado as being extremely loud and coming out of nowhere and then going eerily quiet all in a very short period.

As I met with the community, one thing that I noticed over all the debris in trees and fields was that people were immediately coming together to help the ones affected. We are currently seven days into  tornado season, and today marks the first tornado of the season in Arkansas. I hope it’s not a precursor of what Mother Nature has in store for us this year,
