FAYETTEVILLE - For his 7 catches for 129 yards, including a 52-yard touchdown, leading Arkansas’ 34-17 SEC victory over Missouri last Friday, Razorbacks junior receiver Treylon Burks was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week Monday by the SEC Office in Birmingham, Ala.
It marks the second times this season that Burks of Warren was SEC honored. Burks was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week after his 6 catches for 167 yards and a touchdown led the Razorbacks to a 20-10 victory over then seventh-ranked Texas A&M in a SEC game Sept. 25 at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium.
For the bowl bound Razorbacks, closing their regular season at 8-4 overall/4-4 in the SEC, Burks has caught 66 passes for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns and rushed 14 times for 112 yards and one touchdown.
The Razorbacks, ranked 23rd by this week’s Associated Press poll, are off this week other than voluntary weightlifting and mandatory study hall preparing for the upcoming final exams.
They will learn their bowl destination Sunday following the final ranking of the College Football Playoff Committee.
