Two from Hope arrested today on drug charges after search warrants served
On Monday, August 21st, 2023 at about 7:00 am, officers from the Hope Police Department,  Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office, Eighth North Task Force, Department of Homeland Security  and the Federal Bureau of Investigation executed simultaneous search warrants at two residences  in Hope. 

The search warrants were executed at homes in the 1300 block of South Hervey Street and the 2100 block of South Pine Streets, both in Hope. During the searches, investigators located over four ounces of Marijuana, over one hundred suspected hydrocodone tablets and evidence indicative of the illicit sale of prescription narcotics. Investigators also seized over $1,500.  

Arrested were Charles Henry, 54, of Hope and Laverne Robinson 75, of Hope.  

Henry was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance Schedule I or II, Possession of a  Controlled Substance Schedule I or II, Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule VI, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Use of a Communication Device, Proximity near Certain Facilities and Maintaining a Drug Premises. Henry was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility awaiting a first court appearance.  

Robinson was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance Schedule I or II, Possession  with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule I or II and Maintaining a Drug Premises. Robinson was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility awaiting a first court appearance.
