Noted horticulturist, Janet Carson will be teaching you all about native wildflowers, trees, and shrubs. She will emphasize their appearance, size characteristics, and other interesting information that will help you decide where Natives might fit into your home landscape or other areas on your larger properties.

Janet lives in Little Rock. She has her BS and MS degrees from the University of Arkansas, Fayette-ville. Janet began her career as a county agent in Pulaski County covering all aspects of horticul-ture. She began the Arkansas Master Gardener program in 1980. Upon completion of her Masters Degree, Janet moved to the Arkansas Extension Service office as the statewide Horticulture Spe-cialist. She retired January 2, 2019 after 38 years with the Cooperative Extension Service. She continues to write a Saturday weekly column in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and a monthly column in Arkansas Living magazine, along with a blog, Plan It Janet. She leads garden travel pro-grams, and now gets to spend more time in her own garden. Her first book, in the Garden, was published in 2010, and her second book, Field to Feast, was published in 2016. Janet is married with two grown children and two dogs

Have you struggled with deciding the best way to maintain a watering schedule for your flower beds and gardens? Are you tired of hauling heavy hoses all around your yard? Nevada County Master Gardener, Ralph Harris, has a solution that saves you time and energy. He will be presenting a demonstration on assembling the components of an automatic watering system from faucet to tubing. He will also share information about where these products can be easily found.

Ralph Harris, retired from Natural Resources Conservation Services in 2018 with 38 years of service. Today, much of his time is spent on the many chores that come with owning a farm and raising cattle. Ralph loves to hunt and shares this passion with his children and grandchildren. In addition to all the Master Gardener work that Ralph and his wife Claudette do, you will often find Ralph and Claudette traveling far and wide to support and enjoy the activities of their six grandchildren.
