The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) Adult Education program, serving Hempstead, Lafayette, Miller, and Nevada counties, will host an Open House on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at both its Hope and Texarkana locations.
Part of a statewide initiative by Adult Education programs across Arkansas, the event invites the public to explore the wide range of free services designed to help adults achieve academic and career goals.
Visitors will be able to:
- Tour classrooms and facilities
- Meet dedicated instructors and support staff
- Learn about programs including GED preparation, college readiness, English as a Second Language (ESL), and workforce training and certifications
“This is a chance for anyone thinking about going back to school, changing careers, or improving basic skills to see if UAHT Adult Education is the right fit,” said Pam Warren, UAHT Adult Education Director. “We’re opening our doors to show the community that it’s never too late to start learning again. Whether you’re looking to earn your GED, sharpen your job skills, or take the next step toward college or a career, we’re here to support you every step of the way.”
The Open House will also welcome local employers and public service agencies to participate at no cost, offering valuable networking opportunities for attendees and reinforcing the vital link between education and workforce needs.
